Florida or Kentucky? I know this was discussed the other day but opinions were every where.

What's the best scenario for LSU?

Florida. Our RPI doesn't suffer enough for it to hurt and a series win for us and a series loss for them (and sc) puts us solo #1 in the SEC.

I don't know, that's why I'm here asking. It was a split decision in the other thread. I don't like not knowing who to cheer for.

Hopefully Florida cuz they busting that arse right now.

LSU has the tie breaker over Florida but not Kentucky.

Yes. I think the best scenario is for UF to take 2 of 3.

This is what I was thinking. What would make our RPI higher? I'm more worried about a top 8 seed than a SEC championship.

The RPI formula is so beyond me. Since we played both teams, I don't think it would matter much either way.

No doubt, but if we finish in the top 2 in the SEC we get a top 8 IMO, even if another team has a slightly higher RPI.

Tie breaker doesn't mean anything in baseball except seedings. It won't help being SEC champions if we tie with a team(s). I'm less worried about an SEC championship than I am a national seed. That Top 8 spot is the most important thing out there.

One of the biggest things going against us right now is the fact that there are too many really good teams in the SEC (LSU, UK, UF, SC). That's why I'm cheering for UF to LOSE 2/3 or get swept. If UK beats them they would have lost 4 of their 8 SEC series and they would have at minimum a 13-11 SEC record.

If this happens UF will fall out of the national seed talks which is what we need to happen.

I don't care if we finish one game behind Kentucky for the SEC regular title. I do care if we finish one spot too low on the national seed listings. And UF falling would be a huge domino to fall in our favor in our way to a National Seed.

For top 8 purposes, you should want UK to take the series.

That would put UF at a solid 4th in the pecking order. UK would be 1.

If UF wins, it's a crapshoot and LSU has to take the series at USC to get a top 8, most likely.

There is a good argument that the regular season SEC champion should host a super also. Not that that helps you make your mind up.

Not to be a nega-tiger, but with our remaining schedule, it's going to be really tough to finish 6-3 in the SEC and, thus, the SEC regular season championship becomes less likely imo.

Not to mention there's a freakin 3-way tie at the moment.
