The only things that might change it are competition, which is non-existent for the NFL, or the owners banning together and realizing that Goodell's watered-down concept of football is going to cost them money.

This is going to be what it takes to stop all this. The NFL is a money machine and the sports networks are going to bow down the the all mighty NFL and report what the NFL wants reported for fear of losing access. If and when the owners lose revenue from the fans there will be something done about all this. The Pro Bowl is a prime example. People have quit watching and supporting the Pro Bowl because of the play on the field.
