It's really not that surprising at all. People were against him based on knowing nothing about him in 2 decades of college basketball and his coaching at N. Texas and thought it was just an in house cop out. Once they actually got to see and hear him, and he is no doubt charismatic and very optimistic, it is encouraging. If you are surprised that an unknown can win people over with charismatic appearances and a recent great hire on the staff, then you are one of those "rantards" our fanbase is also hilariously known for.
