I've now read all the updates and re-read the original and I'm fascinated by this.

What helped this girl/person was that apparently 2 people involved.
Either her father or husband started at Covers with her name and once it took off was able to convince "Sarah" to join in. At least that's my theory.
If the people involved hadnt gotten greedy and tried to start their own site and trying to scam other people out of creative content, they probably could have gotten away with being a freelancer for ESPN.com for awhile.
I bet LSUfreak was next on the list for getting an offer
