I agree, it is asinine to worry about national seeds right now!! Our upcoming schedule will be tough enough. If we take care of business then we will be a national seed. If they dont give us one, then there is nothing and I mean nothing we can do about it. One game at a time and the chips will fall where they fall.

it's not asinine. we don't play any of the teams above us in those projections. if we still had series to play against florida and kentucky, then yeah it wouldn't matter. but now kendall is making it look like we need help from other teams which is absurd

Well, I wasn't saying that Oregon deserved one, but they have played a pretty competitive schedule.

At the end of the day LSU needs to stop scheduling the way that they do and actually go on the road to play a decent series somewhere. Win or lose it helps your SoS.

Lastly, you guys get caught up way too much in the projections. Kendall Rodgers is trying to PROJECT what he thinks the NCAA will do. Trust me people on the west coast have bitched for years about the fact that ACC/SEC teams seem to get way to many teams into the tournament. Not my opinion but rather just trying to enlighten you a bit.

Also, isn't it ironic that LSU refusing to go on the road and play a decent OOC team could prevent them from having a super regional in Baton Rouge? I'd be willing to be they make more money from a super regional than they do playing a shitty Appy St. team early in the season.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Honestly the simple fact of the matter is UF got our national seed in his Top 8. LSU beat UF @ UF 2 out of 3. LSU swept Arkansas who beat UF @ UF 2 out of 3. UF doesn't even leave the state of Florida unless its for conference play. Yes they swept Florida St, congrats on doing that. UF also has 9 losses in conference play. LSU has 7. LSU sits tied for 1st in the SEC after going on the road to Florida, and Kentucky and playing Arky at home.

Kendalls reasoning for LSU not getting a national seed, LSU's nonconference schedule. Show me a team with a tougher conference road schedule of @ Auburn, USCe, Kentucky, Florida, and Ole Miss.

Could we beef up the nonconference schedule? Sure we could and I would like at least a midweek game @ Rice or bring in a big team for a series. Regardless do we really need many other tougher games than our road schedule. That is fricking brutal.

Some sites rank ours as a better schedule than theirs. You know that right?

You could've picked almost any other series and been right with calling them shitty.

App. St. is 32-9 overall, 16-5 in conference, and has is #24 in RPI. Far from shitty.

Fair enough, but my point is still valid. Also, Appy won't make any noise in the post season IMO.

they play the schools in their home state, just like everyone else in the conference does. just so happens the other schools in louisiana aren't good like they used to be. florida and south carolina have the natural advantages of having all good schools in state to play during midweek games. Also, lsu's SOS is still top 25 SOS, so it's not like LSU hasn't played anyone. They're 6-3 against the top 15. Kentucky has a 47 SOS, played an easier schedule than LSU pre conference, have the same SEC record, one fewer loss overall, and are squarely in with a top 3 national seed. It really makes no sense.

Well yeah. I wish we would schedule better too, but App St. isn't going to be the reason we miss out on a super regional IF we end up missing out.

Probably not. They've got one really good pitcher and the rest of their team is pretty average.

If LSU wins out, I would expect a top 3 seed. If by winout you mean 2 of 3 the rest of the way.

Kendall's thoughts on that:
#LSU had head to head, but #Gators 14-8 vs. RT25, vs. 7-5, plus 19-9 vs. RPIT50 vs. 12-9 vs. RT50 RT @LSUbeat: @KendallRogersPG LSU vs. UF?

You are the one bitching up a storm about one guy's opinion of where LSU will be placed by the NCAA and I'm the one with a stick up my arse?

Just a little point-counter point that's all.

So is RPI all that matters? If that was the case LSU would have made the tourney last season. Fact of the matter is RPI doesn't mean JACK shite.

LSU passes the eye test as a top 8 team IMO. I've seen some of the best teams in the country play. Quite honestly I think the SEC has 4 of the top 8, but they won't sniff that come selection Monday.

Florida is still the best team in the country IMO. When they get healed up and the pitching staff starts pumping, NO ONE will want to play them, but right now TODAY LSU is the better team.
