This is not an uncommon thing. Around this time of year, most kids (or their parents) put out the word that they are leaning one way or the other. This should keep the drama/stress at a minimum. It tells the MLB team that they appreciate the interest, but they are committed to their school (the younger Nola, Moore, etc.). Teams understand and respect that, but still may draft them later on to see if maybe the kid changes his mind. These are kids with low sign-ability.

Then there are kids with higher sign-ability. They may inform teams that they are willing to listen, while not discounting the fact that they have a great school there for them as well. The kid may also choose to stay silent, and end up with a really tough decision.
