let us know which one you decide on. You may have done this already but I'm sure CF will have plenty on info and reviews for suncoast, ATS, DTT, etc

Damn that sucks man.

I don't think any of that should have nuked your tranny.

ETA: Just read the whole thing. If your truck doesn't already have a tranny cooler than that is the dumbest shite ever. No heavy duty truck should come from the factory without a tranny cooler.

I don't see how those mods could have killed that tranny. An auto behind a diesel these days should be able to handle assloads of abuse.

Well, it doesn't help when your wife decides to drive it in 4 high at 80 mph on the loop

How far?

this really shouldn't hurt it as much as the programmer has...What year truck?

When drag racing I do 4x4 launches in 4 high and leave it in 4 high for the full 1/4 mile(@ 104 mph) and and only take it out once I get in the return lane...Granted I have a SunCoast Stage V trans, but 4x4 at high speeds really is only going to be hard on the transfer case...I have just under 100 4x4 1/4 mile passes on both the Suncoast trans and the "bone stock" transfer case

programmers and chips are always going to be hard on transmissions...that is the weak link when adding power to any diesel pickup...

What programmer?
What power level?

Yeah, leaving it in 4wheel drive will not hurt it. Had a buddy who lived up north and he would leave his in 4hi all winter damn near.

Some really nasty stuff happens

I'd have to set my shite up to hook in two wheel drive. I couldn't make myself hammer down on pavement in 4x4

Anyone done the EGR delete on the GMC2500HD and had any issues with it? I am quickly approaching 100K and plan to egr delete not long after.

EGR delete is a great mod but you will need EFI live or one of the other tuners that will stop it from throwing codes...Look for a delete Kit from ProFab or from Tony Burkhardt at AllSeason

Me either. My truck is a daily driver. If it goes down, I'm fricked. Everything done to my truck(performance wise) has been to increase mpg, not to race, mud, or tug-o-war.

Boats, you look like woody from toy story in the FB tuxedo picture.

I'm scared to give mine a little gas in mud in 4x4 just because if I break something I'm gonna be in a mega bind.

Smarty is the Cummins equivalent to EFI live, but they make many programmers that won't throw codes now. My edge controls them.

Mine gets around my hunting property just fine and goes to the grocery just fine too. If I need to go somewhere else, I've got a rhino for that.

I've had play trucks before. This one is staying pretty.

Me driving my underpowered V6 in mud like it's a 4x4 is gonna cause problems down the road, I'm sure

I use mine for what it is, but I baby the shite out of it. Once I have something else to drive, it's gonna turn into a break and upgrade truck probably
