They're good films but...

1. Far too drawn-out only for the purposes of making more money by gullible movie-goers.

2. The entire plot is about a ring.

3. The plot appears far too convoluted for the average man but is just the opposite.

4. The dramatic sequences (which are basically almost the entire movie) are slow beyond paint drying. I don't think that the Elven woman (Liv Tyler) or the queen? (Cate Blanchett) could've been slower if they had given them Halcion.

5. Peter Jackson must've instructed both Viggo and Elijah: "have the most dumbfounded look on your face throughout the movies as much as is humanly possible."

1. Definitely a movie for the fans of the book, which is rarely done. Why you probably feel that way.

2. See my previous post.

3. You lost me.

4. There are some slow spots, I'll give you that, especially with Blanchett, but the movies are very well paced IMO.

5. Elijah, I'll give you (again, my previous post). But on Viggo, you're just an idiot.

Have you read any of the books just out of curiosity?

You are aware that these were based on a 1000 page epic right? This isn't like splitting a book into two films to get more money out of your audience, its a pre established trilogy. Also that makes no sense in how this is making more money out of "gullible movie-goers". This trilogy is probably the most ambitious film project since "Lawrence of Arabia", to where there was a huge risk in making these films. The films were over 3 hours long each, which are relatively rare since most people have short attention spans and don't want to sit in the theater that long, but also because that means you can't have as many showings of the same film. So your argument is retarded.

So fricking what? The first rule of making a good film is it's not WHAT the film is about, but HOW the film is about. It executed the HOW almost flawlessly. Plus really this is what the film is about:

The best explanation for why they simply didn't take the eagles is because the story isn't necessarily about the ring, even though it's the focal point of the books. The books were more about friendship and loyalty. Staying true to each other in spite of what they went through. What I always get from them when I watch them.

Good explanation sicboy.

Please go on and explain your stupidity.

It's called character development. When you're doing an 11 hour epic, you have to develop your characters more slowly than you do in say an hour and a half film. If you want to see an action film with the complete lack of it and just mindnumbing action with characters you don't give a flying frick about, watch a Roland Emmerich film.

I never stated that I hated it. I said, it was disappointing and far too drawn-out than it needed to be. It wasn't a bad movie, but far from a "masterpiece trilogy". It was the same movie stretched over three films for the purposes of making more money. I've been condemnded over this, but it is what it is.
