We are going monday to watch the Texas Rangers play the NY Yanks. We have seats 3 rows behind the Yanks dug out, does anyone have any good suggestions on how my son can get some autographs? Where is the best place to stand, what do I say? My son is almost 2.

TIA

Kinda off topic, but pay attention to every pitch if you are sitting that close to the action with a toddler.

Good point Red,

I have my glove and will be watching every pitch. I thought about that after I got the tickets.

Let him onto the field like that Chicago White Sox family did.

JK good luck at trying to get autographs and have fun. Too bad he won't be able to remember this one ! But, SOON!

Thanks UA,

This is what it really is all about. Making those memories. He will not remember this one, but will be able to say he went to a Rangers vs Yanks game when he was 2. Hopefully we can get an autograph and he can cherish it.

Arrive really early and try to catch someone's attention when they come out of/go into the dugout.

bring your glove.

2 years old is too young for that location and too young for autographs.

no 2 year old is interested in autographs.

enjoy the game, be sure not to look away for even one second.

you are projecting a lot of shite (about yourself and your relationship with kid) onto your kid.

he will ask for his own autographs when he is 8 or 9.

Geez man.

Best way for autographs is for kids to ask early during warm ups. However, at age 2, he may not be ready for that. Also, be ready to leave after a few innings.

My very first MLB game was also the Rangers vs Yankees. I went in 2006 so I was lucky enough to go to old Yankee stadium.

I think I spent $7 for a bottle of water.

Be prepared for some obnoxious displaced Long Island princesses. I attended Mariners v Yanks IN Seattle and still was surrounded by them "I looooove you Derek Jeeetah!" Or maybe she was from Staten Island, regardless the accent was grating.

GC,

I went to the last Yanks vs Red Sox in old Yankee stadium. Me and the wife had a blast.

When I was young, we went to a Braves game and got to sit a few rows behind the plate. My little brother was 5 at the time, and went up to the ball girl after a foul ball, and said in his most innocent voice, "It's my birthday" and smiled. Got a foul ball.

I was jealous as hell

You need to be there at least two hours before the game starts. If they want to sign, the players on the visiting team usually will stop at either side of the dugout as they leave the field from BP. There's more room on the left (closest to third base) side.

There will be 30 or 40 people (mostly teenagers) there before the game just to get autographs. Even though you paid for tickets that are closer, you'll be the one getting dirty stares for bringing a kid that young. The ushers won't make them leave until about 20 minutes before the game starts. Most of the players will sign then and only then.

Good luck.

<----- It's never too early to take your son to a Braves game. My son was about a year and a half old in the picture. We sat in almost the same exact seats as you listed (but in Turner Field). he will absolutely remember this game. Your best bet for an autograph is to arrive as soon as the gates open and go hang out around your seats. Pretty soon you will start seeing people lining up along the dugout rail (in the stands), and you could get some autographs that way. Bring something for them to sign and sign with. It will make it SO much easier.

I just took my son to the home opener at Turner Field. He fell asleep and woke up as we were pulling up on the stadium. He immediately screamed "DADDY BRAVES LOOK!" He would do the tomahawk chop and yell charge when everyone else did. He was VERY active in the game.

Have a fantastic time man! Enjoy every single moment. If you really want to have fun, spike your sons hair and spray paint it your teams colors.
