re: Gibbs vs Rhymes

Gibbs had a huge role in LSU's turnaround from 06-07 to 08-09. Basically a complete 5 tool player minus the speed who could switch hit.

Rhymes is basically a hitting machine. One of the best contact hitters in college ball today.

Both totally different players from different time periods, quite hard to compare them.

He threw out about 3% of base stealers in 2010.

how do you come up with that math?

re: Gibbs vs Rhymes

That's a reverse hyperbole. It was actually 14%. It was tough to watch Gibbs try to throw runners out down the stretch in 2010.

That dropped from 31% in 09.

re: Gibbs vs Rhymes

it was actually 46% in 09. (22-48)
48% in 08' (17-35)

15% in 2010. (10-63). A lot had to do with our pitching staff and holding runners.

I'd take rhymes. Fir 3 years you could bank on Gibbs hitting into a double play any time he came up with q runner on first and less than 2 outs.

incorrect. Gibbs threw out 22 out of 70 for 31%

quote:

48% in 08' (17-35)
incorrect again. He threw out 17 of 52 for 33%

quote:

15% in 2010. (10-63).
also incorrect. He threw out 10 of 73 for 14%
