I agree. Lebron wasn't shooting well from beyond the arc, but they basically shifted their whole defense to keep him from doing anything. It was a great coaching job and exposed the flaws of someone like Wade on the current Heat squad. Wade's offense is to be a scorer with the ball in his hands and he isn't the best on the team at doing it.
If the Heat traded Wade for legit big men and more mike miller and barrier type players they would be much better. I don't see why the Heat play smaller guards like Chalmers unless they have to have Lebron guard a bigger player. Playing Lebron at guard should allow the heat to create a ridiculous amount of mismatches.
How does a team defend a team with
G- Lebron
G- Miller
F- Battier
F- Haslem
F- Bosh
That is a lot of length.
How does Paul, Rose, or Westbrook guard anyone on the floor?

A lot of people forget that Lebron can be a PG, I just don't think he wants that duty. He would rather be fed the beautiful alley-oop pass then be the one tossing it. But back to the finals, it was shown a very good shut down forward like a Shawn Marion can shut down Lebron, but even Marion needed help at times and thats where Kidd out on the perimeter came in handy. And when Lebron tried down low he ran into Chandler and Dirk. So honestly, the Mavs had the perfect mixture of personnel and coaching, along with 2 HOFer's and a vastly underrated defender in both Marion and Chandler. Not too many teams are molded like that right now.

It stems from last season when the Heat were abysmal early in the season without a PG on the floor. As time went on Wade/James got more comfortable without one, and everyone got to see how strong that Wade/Miller/James/Haslem/Bosh line up could be.
They do it in the regular season because they can, and there's no reason not to. For whatever reason Spoelstra doesn't like to use any of his best stuff unless it's absolutely necessarily. I have no idea why, but he just likes to keep things off tape as much as possible. So the Heat have only played the Wade/Miller/James/Haslem/Bosh line up for 27 total minutes this whole season, even though that line up is +38 in 27 minutes. (per100 possessions that's 128 to 70). And why the Heat barely run the 2/3 pick and roll with Wade/James, which is basically what propelled them to the finals last season. Why they don't just say "Here's what we got. Now try to stop it." I don't know. But for whatever reason, the coaching staff likes to play coy till the playoffs.
