Yeah. BGE has had 2 hinge designs IIRC for the large BGE. The latest one being the one pictured, that's what you would get if you buy new. I'm pretty familiar with them bc my family has a store that sells them. To my knowledge, we have had very very very few, if any, complaints/issues with the hinge. If anything, it's usually gasket issues...but I think that's common on most ceramic cookers (they just have to be replaced over time).

I have a KJ(Kamado Joe). I researched all of the grill and found this one. I love it. Have done low and slow at 200 and seared steaks t 850 no problem. Not trying to hijack the thread just saying have look
