Does anyone think lessening the player suspensions could hurt us? For example, having Vilma suspended for a year would save a whole lot of cap room for us to help sign Brees. Same for Smith too. I'd like to have these players back obviously...but an interesting thought.

vilma- many thought we could cut him anyway. we also signed lofton and hawthorne. so he really wouldnt be the biggest loss at this point.
smith- this is a different story. we still dont have pass rushers and hes the best we got. our line would take a big hit if we lost him for the year. theres no one else there to take over.
