About to buy another reel, is the core worth the extra $170.00?

I haven't found one less than $150, and barely ever see an E7

I'm either pulling the trigger on a Chronarch or Revo S in the next couple weeks.

I'd def go Chrinarch over Revo S. If you wanted something comparable from Abu you can get a Revo SX for $170. Or $150ish on eBay

Yea...right about the time I'm ready to buy one they'll be impossible to find. Guess I'll get a Chronarch instead.

Guys I was a die hard Shimano user until I bought a couple Chronarchs a few years ago and they both were junk and fell apart after just a couple years using them. I had Citicas lasted me 10 yrs and I am still using Calcuttas I bought over 10 years ago. The new ones just don't hold up the same for the amount of money they cost. I will not buy another Shimano reel after that. I bought 3 Revos last year and like them so far.

Have any of you gents ever used Lews? A friend of mine is sponsored by them and he gets great deals on them. Thinking of going this route instead of Shimano.

I'd love one. If I could afford it I'd have one on every rod, except for a cranking rod.

I know they used to make some good stuff. Never heard much about their newer stuff but a buddy's dad bought one of their combos and it seems pretty solid. He loves it. And he fished with older Calcuttas a lot, so he's used to fishing with quality stuff.
