I would consider myself an atheist I guess since I don't really believe in anything but I never define myself as an atheist to avoid people grouping me in with most atheists who have to let everyone know that they are atheist. That's why I just say I'm agnostic in order to not be grouped with 50% of self righteous atheist retards.

I don't pray, I don't get prayer. I guarantee most people in that arena believe in a deity. Let them pray, I don't care; nor do I need the extra stress in my life worrying about something so insignificant. They are the majority, they want to do it, let them go for it. It doesn't effect you. I would want to let any crowd anywhere do what the majority of the people would like to do as long as that something doesn't effect the people who dont.

I don't give a shite what anyone does as long as it does not effect me. Drugs, suicide, etc, everything that is only self afflicting; don't care, let em do it.

Now if they forced me to join in on the prayer, that'd be different. As it is now, it just really seems like atheists trying too hard to make an issue so they can once again try to enforce their views as more "progressive" and "correct". This thread exemplifies in the purest form why I hate being considered an "atheist".

I just think it is extremely arrogant to expect everyone else to watch you perform YOUR rituals. I don't want to pay MY money to feel awkward for your god's sake. You have homes and places of worship. Maybe if you would actually attend your services with regularity, you wouldn't feel the need to pray at every sporting event, meal, and bowel movement. Seriously.

if you are referring to me specifically i dont pray and i dont attend church. i believe in a deity but i think the history books are written a certain way because of the fact that way back when only those in charge were literate and they had a incentive to write things that would control the population and make their rule easier. i dont necessarily believe in the word for word writings but i do believe in a creator so you can squash that nonsense directed at me

They aren't the majority. There are over 120 major league sports teams in North America and.as.far as I know only TWO have Christian pregame prayers.

2/120 is not a "majority".

Action movies with obvious fake moments don't bother me, sci fi with technology doesn't bother me, If I don't believe in a.higher power I would.put that in same arena of thought. Why is it we can't wait to.be offensed or upset...seriously..before a game they could do a Muslim prayer and I would.be fine.

USA fore fathers founded this nation on religion/God. It's on the money you use/pledge of alligence! I find the prayer generic at the games, hardly enough to threaten a non-believer.

read much?
Or is your method of debate just to respond to imaginary statements to try to further your point?

Oh and as far as I know, more than two sports teams pray; and that, my friend, is a completely unsupported claim that I'll pull out of my arse. Not that it has anything to do with anything really.

FIFY. Ask yourself, what do the Easter Rabbit and Santa Clause represent? I don't remember magic bunnies and elves in Revelations. I could see this type of ignorance pervading in 400 C.E., but you have the ability and information available to learn the history of what you are trying to support.
