EABOD has been a favorite of mine for some time. a former co-worker used to say it all the time, so i kinda picked up on it and use it when appropriate...such as now.

thoughts on the pregame prayer

Love it. I also love that it makes you so angry.

I go to every game and enjoy the pregame "reflection". I couldn't care less that people that don't go to every game like you are whining about it.

It isn't a taxpayer funded activity, so pray away says this atheist. I get your point about the diversity of the city, but when someone says merry christmas to me, or god bless you, or whatever the case might be, it doesn't bother me. If they want to pray I'll just sit there quietly and reflect on my day, think about when I'll get laid next, make a to do list, etc until they're done

I don't really care about it either way, but the arena is owned by the state and the team is heavily subsidized by the state. I'm not even bringing up the nice cable deal that subscribers are forced to pay. So yeah, it is a taxpayer funded activity.

i dont want to get in a heated political debate but damn not being able to say prayers at a place where tax funds are going is so not what the founding fathers had in mind when they talked about separation of church and state. this is so outta control

The pre-game prayer strikes me as anachronistic and, frankly, phony. This has little to do with my personal religious beliefs. I really never have understood the need or purpose for this public display. It's sort of embarrassing to me. I don't mean offend.

i believe in god i have no ill will or negative views of those who do not believe, however to say public prayer is embarrassing to you portrays either underlying problems or you just have an irrational hatred of religion
