I know we are only 40% through the sec, but this is shaping up very nicely for hosting some postseason games.

Gausman, Eades, and Nola are going to be tough for anyone to keep us out of Omaha.

and we should have won or swept the auburn series as well. Untimely double plays and bad umpire took away a win from us.

would love at least a regional at the box again. too much fun to not have it here every year

We have an easy series coming up against Bama. At Kentucky is going to be huge as far as who wins the SEC.

Our remaining schedule looks a lot better than it did previously. We should sweep Bama, USCe is wayyy down. Ole Miss is only 6-5 right now. Kentucky is the last big series that scares me.

I know none of those series are a given, but it should at least leave you optimistic.

i think they let 3 or 4 SEC teams host. (obviously they can let a 2 seed host if the committee likes their stadium better or it makes more "geographical sense"). i think we should be in the top 3 or 4 and get a host as long as the polls have us high enough

You speed up. We just went 5-1 against number 1 and 3. That makes us a top 8 team as of now, with our schedule slacking up.

if we just play .500 ball the rest of the way in the SEC, and win all midweek games, we will be 40-16.

Play a little bit better than .500, say 11-7, and the resume will look very good..

Sweeping Arkansas and winning 2/3 at Florida are big time resume builders. If anyone does postseason predictions next week (it's still crazy early) they may have LSU as the 7 or 8 national seed.

Agreed. I feel quite optimistic now but baseball fortunes are the most cruel. But I've seen a moxie from this team recently that remind me of the never-say-die old days.

also, App St is 24-5 right now, and will be a consensus top 25 team soon, so that series loss wont hurt as much

I agree.
This team is less reliant on gausman and eades being great every game. If we can make a habit of pulling games out without their best stuff...... Watch out
