I don't even think Dempsey playing on Liverpool would make me a fan
Sorry guys...

As if players give a shite about that.

That will never happen at Fulham.

Outside of Italy, it has to be Andrea Pirlo. He literally is all of Juve's success this year.
Crazy Milan let him go because of injuries, he's played every game this year!!!

I tend to agree in the sense that he's really still one of the few best players in the world but not often enough recognized as such anymore.

Then how do you explain Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Luis Suarez, Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Stevie Heighway, Kevin Keegan, Robbie Fowler, Bruce Grobbelaar, Pepe Reina, etc...?
These are all world class players that could have said no to "the slum" that is Liverpool. But they smartly chose not to because it's the biggest club in England. You must not watch much football if you think ANY of the players at Fulham would stay there when Liverpool came calling.

By number of trophies standards? By my standards? Who cares, we get it, United have an argument for it. That's not the point of the thread.

'Pool has the advantage in European comps, but United has the advantage domestically. Today, United is the more popular worldwide, but 'Pool has a historical advantage.
Both clubs can lay claim to the English crown.

Well he's nearing the tail end of his career, but in terms of DLP's, there is Xavi and Pirlo neck and neck, and then nearly everyone else. He's probably underrated by members of this board, though.

quote:That's rich BPG. We're talking about Dempsey, not just any Fulham player. Clint is at an age where if he moves it probably will be to experience CL football. The last I checked you may be closer to Championship football than CL football. The younger guys at Fulham could be lured to your council house, but I don't see Clint moving to the North West.
You must not watch much football.

Yeah we had a bad season. Get over it. If you really think we're on our way to obscurity then, as I said before, you must not watch much football. Somehow, someway, we're still attracting top level talent like Luis Suarez to the squad. I guess it's because he must want to play in the championship, right?

Since when is Old Trafford in London? This is a conversation about how people would apparently rather play in London than in Liverpool. Look I'll agree it's not the most posh, upscale place to play. But don't pretend like Manchester is either. You have nothing more to brag about than we do. Other than the fact that Manchester was one of the worst places to be during the rioting last summer.

Good point. Since the entire history of association football spans from August 2010 to present.

Obscurity? No. Mid table mediocrity? Yes. Until your lot address Anfield's problems that's where you'll be.

Sarcasm. In reference to your claim that we must not be that big of a club since Arsenal wins games.
