Bryant wasn't winning conference championships every year.

1961 - SEC - Alabama (7-0)
1964 - SEC - Alabama (8-0)
1965 - SEC - Alabama (6-1-1)
1966 - SEC - Alabama (6-0)
1971 - SEC - Alabama (7-0)
1972 - SEC - Alabama (7-1)
1973 - SEC - Alabama (8-0)
1974 - SEC - Alabama (6-0)
1975 - SEC - Alabama (6-0)
1977 - SEC - Alabama (7-0)
1978 - SEC - Alabama (6-0)
1979 - SEC - Alabama (6-0)

Bryant finished ranked in the AP top ten twenty-two times.
Considering that Bryant coached teams finished in the AP top ten more times than all but ten programs, this is no debate.
The only teams that have more finishes in the AP top ten than Coach Bryant's teams are the usual suspects: Oklahoma, Michigan, Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Nebraska, USC, Texas, Penn State, and Tennessee.
