New Orleans Voodoo is so awesome to me because it's kind of the yin to the Saints' yang. It's a great name - it can be spooky and badass, it pays homage to our heritage, and it fits in with any color scheme you want.
The fact that it's an Arena football name is irrelevant. That league is so fricking bankrupt that I'm sure you could throw the current owner a few courtside seats and $500,000 and be done with it.
That said, I think that Brass and Breakers and Pelicans all work as well.
I do not like Krewe - I can't put my finger on it but it just sounds WNBA-ish and there is no image that comes to mind with "Krewe". All of the others bring up an image in my mind. Krewe would kind of be that hodgepodge of wrought-iron balconies, carnival masks, beads, etc. Which is fine but not great.
My heart is kind of torn this way:
Hornets: 20%
Brass: 15%
Voodoo: 25%
Breakers: 20%
Pelicans: 15%
Krewe: 5%
I'd honestly be okay with anything as long as we get Anthony Davis

Lets just drop the teal and make the Hornets ours.

As much as I have tried to embrace Krewe I just can't convince myself it is better than what we already have.
I did like how someone said if we were the Krewe every home game could be like a Mardi Gras celebration....that would be badass

I have been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans once, never again. Too many people getting too drunk in too small of a space, not somewhere I wanna be. I'm just saying it would be a cool atmosphere for home games.

I actually really like your idea of the New Orleans Blue Claws/Blue Crabs
I think Light Blue and Royal Blue (KC Royals) is an awesome color scheme.
I actually used these colors for a softball team I had named the KingCrabs
I also think light blue with Zatarans Red is a great idea. Old Houston Oilers style, one of the most unique color schemes in all sports.
