Here is the Hornets team that went 18-64 in 2004-05...good Hornets memories here.
12 Chris Andersen F
10 Darrell Armstrong G
3 Lonny Baxter F
42 P.J. Brown F-C
5 Speedy Claxton G
1 Baron Davis G
2 Dan Dickau G
34 Corsley Edwards F
35 Matt Freije F
20 Alex Garcia G
6 Junior Harrington G
32 Casey Jacobsen G
15 Maciej Lampe F
9 George Lynch F
21 Jamaal Magloire C
10 Bostjan Nachbar F
33 Lee Nailon F
54 Rodney Rogers F
23 J.R. Smith G
4 Jackson Vroman
4 David Wesley G
30 David West F
there were a lot of new names in the next season...complete roster overhaul...this is the 2005-2006 roster.
12 Chris Andersen F
33 Brandon Bass F
42 P.J. Brown F-C
45 Rasual Butler G-F
5 Speedy Claxton G
21 Marcus Fizer F
44 Marc Jackson C
43 Linton Johnson F
15 Maciej Lampe F
6 Arvydas Macijauskas G
24 Desmond Mason F
10 Bostjan Nachbar F
25 Moochie Norris G
3 Chris Paul G
23 J.R. Smith G
1 Kirk Snyder G
4 Jackson Vroman F-C
30 David West F
34 Aaron Williams F-C
I had forgotten a few names from these seasons...nice trip down memory lane. David Wesley and Baron Davis only played a few games in 04-05...Lee Nailon and Dan Dickau were the team's leading scorers for guys who played most of the season. Nailon averaged about 14 PPG, and Dickau averaged about 13 PPG.
There was obviously a lot of roster moves and turnover after that 18-64 season, and there probably will be again after this egregious season...this is the current hornets roster:
0 Al-Farouq Aminu F
1 Trevor Ariza F
15 Gustavo Ayon C
8 Marco Belinelli G
54 Jeff Foote C
10 Eric Gordon G
4 Xavier Henry G
2 Jarrett Jack G
20 Chris Johnson C
35 Chris Kaman C
24 Carl Landry F
50 Emeka Okafor C-F
14 Jason Smith F
42 Lance Thomas F
21 Greivis Vasquez G
Who makes it to next season?
I say Greivis Vasquez, Jason Smith, Xavier Henry, Eric Gordon, Al-Farouq Aminu, and Gustavo Ayon.... and one of:
Ariza, Jack, Kaman, or Okafor--pieces to keep for the future? or Lee Nailon's and Dan Dickau's?

Vasquez and Aminu the two I'm least confident about.

Funny. I always thought that Boston Snackbar could have been pretty good. Ah, well.
Jackson Vroman was a monster.
Anyway, I say, all things considered, next year's only sure things likely are. . .
And one or more of the Kaman, Okafor, Ariza, Belinelli, Vasquez. Not sure who.

I think Beli will still be here, and Jeff Foote is still on our roster?!

Jackson Vroman was awesome...When the team signed Arvydas Macijauskas, I had really high hopes.

Byron fricked that one up. From Arvydas' Wiki:
quote:
When asked if he put the last season behind him, Macijauskas responded: "I want to forget that year. Everything went wrong. A really bad coach, a bad franchise. At the end of the season, I didn't even think of returning to New Orleans next season. From the third game on, I was already sentenced to zero minutes for the rest of the year. The NBA isn't funny. Teams are (not) teams. There's not true commitment between the teammates"

Marco will be back. Monty said the other night he expects him to get the "big contract he deserves". Although, he actually didn't say he would be it from us...

He makes 3.3 now maybe he'll get bumped up to 5.

Suprised to see some of you guys think Vasquez might not be back. I think he's definitely going to be back, but I guess you never know if he gets put in a trade of some sort during the offseason.

Is the only thing against Kaman coming back the figures he'd request for a new contract? If love to have him at the 5 and Davis/Robinson at the 4.

Depends on if they draft a PG IMO

if we do draft a PG....who stays on the roster? vasquez or jack?
Posted on 4/1/12 at 8:20 pm to drake20
I want Jack back for sure.
I'd much prefer Kaman to Okafor, but I'm thinking it'll be the other way around. Kaman goes elsewhere and Okafor is our starting center next year.
I'd love to have Landry and Ariza back, but I feel like they're gone.

Ariza is coming back. I feel more confident about him returning than almost any other Hornet.

I think Monty loves the guy because of his lockdown defense, length and athleticism. He'll be back. Maybe he'll discover a latent outside jump shot.
