Monty Williams: why no Coach of the Year hype?

He's won 13 games with a team that any mortal man would be lucky to win 1 with, and has kept that team competitive in the majority of the losses. You think that Scott Brooks, Doug Collins, Tom Thibodeaux, or Mike Freakin Brown could do that? Don't make me giggle. Monty for CotY.

It's incredible what he's done with a team that belongs in the D League, but they'll never vote coach of the year to a coach of a team that isn't a top 4 seed.

The same reason Kevin Love isn't being considered for MVP. His team is doing crappy. Awards like this typically go to winning teams.

I love Monty, and believe if we make the right moves for him in the front office he very well could be one day. But this thread for this year is just stupid, and I think he's done an absolutely incredible job.

Scott Brooks should win it running away. Best coach in the league after Popovich (who should finish 2nd).
