Not that I'm complaining but I was curious as to why they took our 2nd round pick for 2013 and not the 1st round pick. I know we don't have a 1st round pick this year but I don't remember losing one for 2013 via trade or anything.

Because they felt taking our first born was more fitting.

Taking any 2013 picks was egregious.

It punishes people not responsible for the bounty infractions, namely the fans.

frick you Goodell.

I agree 100%. As a matter of fact I feel that with us trading away a 1st rounder for this year and not getting much out of Ingram that he would look at that as being punished enough.

He just wants to look like a hard arse and he picked the saints as a way of doing it. Him!

122 ATT
474 YDS
5 TD
We'll see how he does now that his rookie season is out of the way, which was arguably the best of all rookie runningbacks last year.

My bad if you thought I meant he didn't help out. I was saying we gave up a 1st rounder and didn't get a full year out of the guy. I truly feel he will be a major part of the team if healthy for an entire season.

I think if we had not used our 1st round last year, we would have lost it this year. Perhaps 2, two's equals the one he couldn't take away.

This is all but certain.

No matter what Ingram does now, it wasn't a wasted pick.

Because that leaves us with only a 3rd round pick this season, decreasing the chances of getting a player who can make an immediate impact.

164 Att
897 Yds
2 TDs

Why I said it is arguable, 3.9 to 5.4 ypc while 5 td's to 2 Tds. Murray had more of a passing game role aswell. It comes down to what stats you value the most. Both got injured. Demarco had much less company in the stable.

This. When they announced the penalty, the talking heads were all saying the NFL wanted to take a draft pick away from us this year. But we didn't have a first round pick this year. So they went second rounder this year & second rounder next year, so that they could at least take something this year. They also were saying that taking a second rounder this year and a first rounder from us next year was thought to be too punitive.

Of course, I'm happy they thought some punishments were thought to be too punitive. It's really nice how they decided to cut us a break and give us an "easy" punishment.

He's so popular now, Roger Goodell can no longer retire in Louisiana . . .

My guess the reason for 2 twos, is because we dont have a one forfeit this year.
