I read somewhere that if you have 100,000 seats you are required to add on a sprinkler system to the field or some random thing like that.. Maybe that's why they stopped? That's not true. LSU didn't adopt that policy. It'd only be minor changes like sprinklers in suites and kitchen areas.

im not sure off the top of my head what the building codes state with respect to this, but it isn't up to LSU what code they follow/LSU isn't the entity that adopts or doesn't adopt building codes. That is done by city. LSU is in Baton Rouge.. and commercial buildings in baton rouge must comply with IBC and whatever ammendments dpw adopts.

in any case, the sprinkler this refers to has nothing to do with watering the field - its a fire sprinkler system.

This has Toonces written all over it. I wish they would open the decision up for input from the fans. If the bid law doesn't have to play a part, TAF could select 5 or 6 options and place information about each one including, the drawings of each option, the overall projected cost of each option, the changes that would have to be made (relocation of parking, etc.) all on their website. Fans could then log into their TAF account and vote for their favorite design. For people who do not belong to TAF, TAF could offer a cheaper basic membership so that everybody could join and help make LSU athletics even better.
