Because a warning is not even a slap on the wrist.
SP is a risk taker and we love him for that. He miscalculated the risk this time probably because Goodell did not communicate the consequences of disobeying said warnings and the rest of the league had some level of "pay for performance" program going on.
Instead of an initial warning, if Goodell would have immediately came down with a 2 game suspension and fines...we wouldn't be discussing this today.
Goodell allowed this shite to go down for years in the NFL under his watch. He is scapegoating the Saints for HIS own failures to the league and league owners.
