If you are comfortable wade fishing, I would fish near the rock breakwaters off the beach. Always catch trout and reds off the last one right By the park. They do not allow you to wade near the jetty near the pass though. Too many drownings. You can fish the lagoon, but I prefer to take the hiking trail and go around the lagoon to wade fish the cut that leads to the back side of the island. Depending on the tide, you can easily wade that pocket, which is full of flounder.
