Camped in the state park last weekend. Didn't fish there but when were heading to the fish cleaning station on friday night there was a guy walking off the pier with a fish that was at least 3' long. Couldn't tell if it was a red or a black drum but it was big. We kayak fished la 1 near fourchon and picked up some reds in the marsh.

All summer long while the trout are spawning is the absolute best time. April-September.
