not a nice hike either I would suggest packing heat you'll get up there in the NE GA mountains with those ridge runners all jacked up on meth carry 2 wallets one to give away and your real wallet that you keep but not in your back pack good chance they will take that too
I also used to have a 10mm Glock on my hip when in the woods. I used to bring it sparingly because of the possibility of colored bears/meth-heads and after a Squatch was running around me in the woods in Fayette, MS I started packing everywhere. I definitely high-tailed it back to the truck after that one.
Ran across some weird shite at least once a week. It is crazy walking through the woods for hours and all of a sudden come upon a half broken down brick house with no roads leading to it or people closer than 10 miles.

hell I was out hiking on a local WMA today trying to get the dog and its owner in shape for bird season in Sept and walking out I ran in to 4 hippies with dreadlocks with all their juggling equipment & hula hoops i guess going to practice they were not meth heads but stoned out of their minds. its public land glad they were enjoying it, but that was a first
