When will they announce TJ's firing, IF he gets fired?

The season ends either Sunday (if we are left out of the NIT), or Tuesday or Wednesday (depending on which day our first-round loss is). Assuming we hear nothing to the contrary by Friday, do you think we can safely expect Johnson to be coaching again next season?

He's not getting fired based upon the improvement this team made from last year to this year and what we have coming back. Deal with it.

Look at our record and tell me we didn't improve.

I agree. This administration doesn't seem to care about basketball, so I don't expect them to make a move. But, on the off chance that they do, it seems the sooner the better would be the strategy.

Yep, between predicting we won't win 25 games next year and that TJ won't be fired, I'm just a veritable fount of outrageous expectations, am I not?

So, then, I assume you think either that he will be fired or that we will win 25 games next year? It must be one of the two in order for either of my predictions to be "off the rocker".

Man you guys have a really high opinion of where the LSU basketball program is right now. We have low admin support ($$), low fan support, and are obviously a football first school. This program will take time to build. I am disappointed with the collapse at the end of the regular season, but if you don't think TJ has improved this program, you are fricking nuts.

He isn't going anywhere and I will bet that he takes them to the NCAAs next year. No, I am not a full on TJ supporter, in fact, I would understand if he is fired. But, this isn't football, dumbasses. This is LSU basketball...currently, a middle of the pack program in a middle of the pack conference.

duck.

About 30 dale brown rudy macklin posters are about to swarm in and talk about winning games in 1983. And then they'll ask why they should be content with mediocrity in any sport.

Yes, vast improvement would have earned him another year. But even the minimal improvement we actually made will probably be enough. Ten years from now, we may crack the .500 mark in the SEC and be on the bubble for the NCAA tournament, and all of Trent's loyal apologists will be vindicated.

I just laugh at the thought that this thread was prompted from a 9 point loss to Kentucky. Because this thread could have easily been justified about a week or two ago, so the only reason for it seems to be the loss today...to the top team in the country.

Wanna bet, chief? LSU spent $4.1 mil on basketball last year. Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee all spent over $6 mil. That puts us below middle of the pack. But go ahead, blind ref, you obviously know more than me...
