You talkin' your own boat or a charter. In Kona, HI the boat owns all of the fish caught. Good luck telling a captain whose fished 30 years for a grander your going to let it go. You'll be swimming with it.

I have only heard of one grander being released. Almost all are killed, the fight is so long an taxing on the fish they almost never survive. Plus a grander pretty much assures your name goes in the record book.
You all that would release would change your minds after a 16 hr fight. After that bitch kicks your arse for that long you're gonna want blood
Oh and most the time by the time a grander is leadered they are on the cusp of death, theyll fight to the death before giving in.
