I'm planning on buying this
Does anyone know how it would work for just showing depths when at speeds of approx. 40-50mph. I am wanting a single unit for fishing in the marsh and close in rigs as well as freshwater rivers and lakes. I'd like to try the DSI for finding structure but am worried it will lock up, black out or be useless when running at speed.

When running at speed I use my circular depth finder on my dash instead of my fish finder on my bow.

This type...

instead of this...

I was trying to make do with one unit on my console just spin it around when fishing. Have never owned a sonar that didn't crap out at speed. Not sure if it's water turbulence or electrical interference causing the problems but kinda leery of buying two and still not having one functional unit.

Messes up a fish finder (as I call it).

A real depth finder (the circular one) works while you are on plane and is quick if you run up shallow. I would call it instantaneous where as a fish finder would take a few seconds to graph the change.

How do these work exactly? Compared to the others.

their both sounders.
One uses analog input directly to light bulbs whereas digital depth finders need a few seconds to generate a detailed image on your LCD screen.

Is a 2006 old enough for Sea Foam?

Any recommendations on an accurate one? Are they cheaper than a "fishfinder"

Hi, my name is TClayboy99, and I'm also a Sea Foam user.

I just bought a 2006 outboard. was wondering if it's old enough for seafoam to make any difference?
