A 738-pound Pacific bluefin tuna described by angler Nathan Adams as a "fish of a lifetime" may also be the largest Pacific bluefin ever landed on rod and reel.

Is Pacific Bluefin is a different species from any other Bluefin? That's a big fish by any account but didn't they catch one in the Gulf like 10 years ago or so that was over 1400 lbs. I believe it's the largest fish ever caught in the Gulf on a rod and reel.
