Cheap Auto Rates

I just bought the wife a new Ford Explorer. Ford was offering 1.9% for 36 months, 2.9% for 48 or 3.9% for 60.... or take a $1,000 rebate. I went with the rebate and then got 2.14% with CHASE, this after I turned down Capital One 2.9%. Just wanted to give a heads up to those people who are looking for a new ride.

Aren't there a ton of auto manufacturers offering 0% APR for up to 60 months on new cars now?

When I bought my truck, ford offered 1000 back for financing with them
Financed with them at 8.0% and refi'd at the credit union for 2.9 the day I got the first bill

If they are offering 0%, there's usually a rebate available too that will leave you better off if you can get a low rate elsewhere

Were you able to get more than $1K off your new vehicle?

Yes, I get X-plan through work plus rebate. I got the vehicle below invoice.

We do not have Penfed here, but I went to their website and that 1.99% is only up to 48 months. I got 2.14% for 60 months. I just wanted to give heads up because even on their website, CHASE is only offering like 2.75% and that's after you open account etc. etc. I do no banking with CHASE and with my good credit score got this rate which is better than they advertise. So lesson learned, shop those interest rates and don't settle for the first one offered in finance.

Very good, who did you finance with?

GMC beat my credit union, they were 2.29

If you're financed through GMC, it's worth it to get an auto ins. quote through GMAC.
