I can't tell you how many times I've heard this or similar today.

Do I have the right to revoke somebody's fan card on the spot?

You would also need to revoke the fan card from 90% of the posters on this board who want us to lose every night

I'm torn. As much as I'd love to give Linsanity a little comeuppance, winning begets winning. The last thing we need is a win streak. It's time to get back to our competitive but losing ways.

I root for competitiveness with the short end of the stick.

brofist right here back to you and dro

and for you peoples who want us to lose every game, i'll repost something I posted the other day...

quote:

Doesn't it work that the more losses you have, the more ping pong balls get put into the lottery?

yeah. loser has 25% chance, then 2nd has around a 20, etc.

"As of 2008, with 30 NBA teams, 16 qualify for the playoffs and the remaining 14 teams are entered in the draft lottery. These 14 teams are ranked in reverse order of their regular season record and are assigned the following number of chances
250 combinations, 25.0% chance of receiving the #1 pick
199 combinations, 19.9% chance
156 combinations, 15.6% chance
119 combinations, 11.9% chance"

That's from Wikipedia.

HOWEVA

As it has worked out, the last team to have to worst record and get the 1st pick was the 2004 Magic. They got Dwight. So what me and homeboy are saying is that it's in our favor to NOT have the worst record.

2004 Orlando Magic 21–61 (Worst) 250 (out of 1000) 25.00% Dwight Howard
2005 Milwaukee Bucks 30–52 (6th-worst) 63 (out of 1000) 6.30% Andrew Bogut
2006 Toronto Raptors 27–55 (5th-worst) 88 (out of 1000) 8.80% Andrea Bargnani
2007 Portland Trail Blazers 32–50 (6th-worst) 53 (out of 1000) 5.30% Greg Oden
2008 Chicago Bulls 33–49 (9th-worst) 17 (out of 1000) 1.70% Derrick Rose
2009 Los Angeles Clippers 19–63 (2nd-worst)[F] 177 (out of 1000) 17.70% Blake Griffin
2010 Washington Wizards 26–56 (5th-worst) 103 (out of 1000) 10.30% John Wall
2011 Cleveland Cavaliers 19-63 (2nd-worst)[G] 227 (out of 1000) 22.70% Kyrie Irving

I don't want us to lose every game, I just want us to space out our 12-15 wins a little more.

that one wasn't directed at you

there are others on here, though, who seem to wish we lose ever game

at this point, it's better to lose...25 percent is a lot better than 20 percent. who won the lottery the last seven years means nothing.

i enjoy watching the team win, but i will take 10 wins and a better shot at the #1 spot over 20 wins

A win vs. the Knicks would put the hornets on the map. I really want to win this one

This is definitely an awkward time to be a fan. The way I'm looking at it is, I will pull for us to win high profile games like this but other than that, I'd like to see us lose (can't believe I just typed that ). However, during those games, I'm not pulling for us to do bad but I'm in no way upset after loses

frick that. I'm very much aware of the lottery, the odds and the importance of the upcoming draft. But this team will have decent draft choices regardless. frick the Knicks.
