Went there last night for the first time. The decor is dated (it's been around since the 70s) but the food is great and priced reasonably. 8 oz. filet, stuffed baked potato, and salad all for $23? Count me in; I'll be returning .

FWIW I know people that have said that the Madisonville Young's location (I think it's owned by a relative in that same family) has nicer/more up to date decor but that the food is more expensive and not as good as the Slidell location.

Madisonville location is certainly double the price you paid, but is worth every penny of it, to me.

It's definitely a good place to go if you're looking for a steak that is decently priced and you don't want to break the bank going to a Ruth's sort of place.

This is why the dinnder was $23

Ill take great food from an out dated decour place for that price. They most likely own the place out right and can keep costs down.
The other place I am sure they still own a lot on it and thereforet eh prices are higher

I agree. I don't mind an outdated lookinh restaurant as long as its clean and the food is good. That's the case for the Young's in Slidell.
