Joining the standard PVP battles, like the 5v5 and the 10v10 scenarios, the one thing I noticed immediately was that GW2’s mechanics are designed from the ground up for PVP. Rolling and dodging out of the way of enemy attacks only to launch a blistering combo as they struggle to realign is a beautiful thing, and the completely configurable skill system means that once you’ve got a taste of the enemy’s favourite tactics, you can adjust what you’re packing to match. Even though you're scaled to level 80 for your battles, the simple ten-key ability system means there's no down-time while you figure out what you're capable of. It is a very, very clever system

This is what I've wanted. The mental game of builds to combat tactics. Not mindless macro rotations where ultimate success is dependent on gear.

First I heard of this:

The hit MMORPG experience that is Guild Wars 2 is heading to consoles, according to publisher NCSoft. The studio revealed that a "small development team" is currently busy bringing the epic over to consoles.

No real details were revealed other than that it is currently in "the preparation stage" for unspecified consoles. Rest assured, NCSoft have stressed that the PC build is still their main point of focus. ArenaNet are hard at work developing the highly anticipated MMORPG, which is planned for launch later this year. A beta is expected in March.

Guild Wars 2 is an epic massively multiplayer experience set in the fantasy realm of Tyria, a world controlled by the Elder Dragons. In Guild Wars 2, the overarching plot follows the return of Destiny's Edge, a lost guild dedicated to fighting the Elder Dragons and ultimately defeat its leader, the undead Zhaitan.

Unlike most MMOs, Guild Wars 2 is set in a persistent world where player actions will dictate the course of events in Tyrian history. Utilizing a unique ripple-effect questing system, players will be able to take part in quests relative to the events of the world, creating an immersive environment that has only been seen in single player RPGs to date.

Not sure how I feel playing PC vs Console....there's got to be an advantage

Yup. And like I said before, believe it or not, that comes from LIMITING certain choices. Not opening everything up.

I loved all the variations of Necros I went through in GW. Necro/War. Necro/Mes and my favorite Necro/Rit. I don't see the same kind of variation here, but I see some. Just looking at the Guardian skills....Initiation and Disruption are going to be the strong points of my PvP builds.
