why does it seem that LSU is lagging behind in recruiting. LSU ended up outside the top 10 last year along with big-name La. defections. Now, here we are outside the top 10 with several La. top players looking at Ala? How come we can’t close the deal on our own in-state players? it’s early, but don’t tell that to Mich, ALa, Aub, Texas, Geo, and Fla?

I don't understand this on many levels.

LSU locks up 80% of instate offers. Even the almighty Nick Saban got 80% of his instate offers. Name another state and state school with that ratio.

This has been discussed ad nauseum, but if you are referring to Rivals with the ranking, Rivals sucks. Rivals doesn't have a scout who focuses on La and they didn't even add Hill to our class last year. With 247, I like the way they individually rank, but you cannot figure the way their team rankings work. 1 prospect caused Bama to go from 11 to 2 on 247. That's a crock. Scout is the most accurate and reliable, because they have more regional scouts than anyone else. Scout also ranks the top 25 in a class, a full class and gives each recruit a specific point value, so you can project rankings. On Scout, LSU has been in the top 10 every season since 2002. Last season, in fact, LSU ended up 6. It doesn't really matter where LSU is right now, only where they end up and a lot of our prospects will be evaluated and bumped. Once our players are evaluated, we will end up top 10 again on Scout.
