Okay, I'll take your word for it. I didn't see a specific for when a player does not sign why someone else can't sign instead. I get that the guy who may not qualify and therefore doesn't sign may be out of luck later.

If you are asking we drop him altogether, then yes, we have another.
But he still counts for this class if he signs, so if we keep him, then no, we dont have another spot.
Im not sure we get to 25, none of the guys remaining seem like locks in any way

so when does the roster actually have to be trimmed to the 85 number?

Before the players actually get on campus and need to pay for school with the scholarship money.
