it amazes me the backlash from people for this kid making a decision in HIS life on where he wants to spend his future. HIS life.... not yours.
you know, i used to feel the same about kids that picked against LSU. Then again, I was 18 years old, and eventually grew up.

It was interesting before the UA Game they asked Landon whats the craziest thing he ever heard while being recruited. He said being told he would start his freshman year. Sounds like Saban told him he wouldn't and maybe Les said he would. It wouldn't surprise me if he responded that way cause Saban tried to paint Miles as a liar.

The truth is....if Thompson doesn't pick LSU, then he is one year away from guaranteed starting, if not this year. And he'd be much closer to winning a job next year. And BTW, Bama is going after 5 star safeties in 2013..and 2014...
But it's hard for a kid to realize this now that he's been showing the love for the crimson all these years. It's really hard to understand how, especially with LSU's defensive backfield success, how this makes sense on paper.
You can be right about a decision, or you can be smart about it. Talk is cheap. I just think that LSU offers him more of an opportunity, but you got to let him go and find out for himself.
Don't hate on him too much, he's got a lot of pressures on him coming from all directions. He's got to decide whether or not to lose the battle (the recruiting hype) or win the war (long term better choice).
Either way, kid's a player....
