Here is a pretty good article because it gives facts that lead to some decent conclusions regarding Recruits and their rankings coming out of HS and what their contributions are and how helpful the rankings can be. Does this mean they don't miss kids, obviously it shows the exact opposite that they do miss them, but it also shows they tend to get the skill positions spot on.

This is just further evidence that Les Miles is the Dale Brown of college football. He can make a 3* play like a 5*, but apparently doesn't have a clue how to use a 5*.

Jefferson never developed, and 2 5* receivers has (for the most part) rode the pine.

What 5 start WR's have rode the pine?

Don't say Landry, he was a true freshman and got some reps but we obviously didn't have the passing game to get him the ball.

I think the OP means that Shep and Randle were "underutilized."

Both JJ and JLee were 4*, which should give you some indication of the quality of the rankings.

Good article, but we really don't rack up on the 5 stars anyway, and it seems like Peterson was really the only one to live up to his hype coming out. Now I don't know any 5* receivers riding the pine, TT and randle played a lot, in fact those guys were solid from time to time, but I also can recall both guys dropping passes they never should have dropped, blame the qbs if you want, but if I wasn't getting the ball a lot, I would make Damn sure I caught it if it was thrown to me. Landry played more than TT, Randle, and shepard their freshman yr, landry was laying the wood on special teams and is not afraid of contact.
