4 main groups - Chouest, Benson, NBA connected guy, Others we don't know about

quote:

3. A National Group with Basketball Connections

At least one person in the mix is very familiar among NBA circles, and his name isn’t spelled “Mashburn.” This person, confirmed to be leading a well capitalized group, has NBA experience and connections like nobody else whose name has even come up as a potential owner.

The main organizer of this group was a player, head coach, GM, and has served in several other NBA roles throughout his 30 plus year basketball career.

I wonder who the NBA connected guy is. Isiah Thomas?!

I'm thinking another Piston instead of Zeke.

Joe Dumars is from Shreveport, played at McNeese, is on the outs in Detroit thanks to new ownership and some questionable talent decisions over the years, but would have connections out the ying-yang.

My first thought was Magic, but then I read the rest and saw La connections and moving his family, which Magic certainly wouldn't be doing.

Can't be Karl Malone because he's never been a GM or coach.

Willis Reed and Elgin Baylor make a lot of sense.
