Of course that game wasn't the same level of competition. That's irrelevant. It showed that Lee is capable of staying in the pocket or moving enough to buy time or run, and that he has good eyes and a good arm.
In THE game you try everything in your arsenal. Look at that video and see how often Lee had to release quickly, 3 step drops, etc. Putting him in the NCG would definitely have thrown a wrinkle at Bama. All we had to do was hit a pass or two, the crowd wakes up, the O line starts to feel an adrenalin surge, the Bama defense gets a tiny question or two in the back of their minds and hesitates a split second--momentum shifts. Les disregarded this possibility, and he'll pay dearly in this year's recruiting class.
