As a huge Jets fan (and LSU fan, see my username), I could not be happier by this news: Every LSU fan should be pulling for Bama to hire Schottenheimer. It would be like killing two birds with one stone. Bama would get an extremely predictable, stubborn, uncreative offensive coordinator who overcomplicates his passing game while stifling the growth of his quarterback, and the Jets will be ridding themselves of one.
For those who think Sanchez was the catalyst for the Jets failed offense, 75% of Jets fans will tell you the blame should be solely squared on Schottenheimer. Not one of us wanted him rehired, and it's saying a lot that almost all of us would rather have a coach who has never been an OC in his life (Sparano).
