How many big-time college football teams routinely bench starting QBs during a bad stretch of play? You guys are acting like its a common occurrence. In fact, the most common occurrence is to pick a starter and stay with him. The idea is to let that player go through the ups and downs.

You mean like Lee was pulled as the starter after 2 INTs in the first BAMA game.. i agree.. normally it takes a few bad games, like JJ has had, or several bad series within a game, like JJ had.....

haven't read the whole thread, don't know if this has been responded to.

Who was the declared starter preseason? JJ was.
Miles worked him in slowly because the backup did a great job. This is what big-time programs expect.
Apparently the lines crosses at Bama Nov 5th and the starter was replaced into his role.

I am in no way justifying his pick of who should be the #1. I honestly don't know. They both have HUGE flaws.

I'm only saying that playing a struggling starter instead of a backup is nothing unusual and in no way is a CHARACTER issue.
