im sure ill get roasted for this, but methinks that to an extent, it wasnt worth the risk of having Lee come in and actually get a few first downs and move the ball. Lee probably couldnt overcome that lead with that amount of time left anyhow... so why risk it?

It would invite tremendous criticism and would make Miles look like a fool for not playing him sooner and benching him to begin with, and he would be taking 10x the heat he is right now.

Legit experts would begin to question Miles decisions which would create uncertainty about his future. Its just easier to avoid all that.

Miles knew LSU would sink or swim with Jefferson.

There were no other options.

We sank.

Right. Other than the guy who played almost flawlessly for all but 2 snaps this year.

If he admitted to thinking this, he'd be fired before the sun went down and deservedly so.

Les explained that he did not want to put Lee in a bad position because the Oline couldn't block the Alabama defense. I kept hoping Lee would get a chance, even though he is not as mobile as JJ. Lee, I think, makes quicker reads and gets the ball out sooner, so the ball would be gone before pressure got to him. JJ looked like he did last year, completely confused and holding on to the ball too long. For those that say the LSU gameplan did not include down the field passes, that is the fault of the coaches who did not put in any adjustments to the gameplan since Nov. 5.
