What kind of bitters do you use for an Old Fashioned ( as I finish off my third one for the night)?
I use Angostura with orange peel and simple syrup.
My old man says Peychauds with cherry juice and simple syrup is the true way.
What's the original recipe to this fine drink?
Thanks

I prefer angostura bitters.
His version is a little more old school.

Same here. The quality of the muddling make a big difference though, and not overdoing it with the simple syrup. But assuming all other things being equal....

Like it with rye whiskey, Peychauds, muddle orange, cherry, and a bit of cherry juice.
