This is why we train and use tactics. You don't just stroll up to a car. I assume every car and every person I stop is armed. It is one of the first questions I ask the person I am contacting on a traffic stop.

I have on numerous times encountered someone on traffic stops with weapons in their laps. While the situation can be tense, I at least learn of the weapon very quickly and in a way that I can protect myself.

Its the gun you don't see and they ones they don't tell you about that will most likely kill you.
