re: Would a 30-30 marlin drop a buck at 100 yards

On Christmas eve, I hit one in the same distance with a flat tip 170 grain. Found hair , blood , and a split in half of a 2" piece of rib on the ground. He got up and ran just before it got dark. I walked to the area and waited about 20 minutes and started to look for him. Found blood trails and started chasing. We Searched the whole area for two hours and did not find.
