Anyone have any experience with the Tuesday/Thursday lottery drawing at Sherburne WMA? Trying it out tomorrow and any advice or experiences like what to expect would be great! TIA

I been luck enough to hunt it 5 times this year. It started slow, but more birds are showing up. The ponds have a lot of feed in them. I hunted there yesterday. We did limits of grays and 1 specklebelly. Most people leave out before the big birds fly which is well after 8:30. There are 7 sections open that up to 3 hunters can hunt together in each section.

People? Well over 70 yesterday showed up to hunt.

You know him? This dude is there every day along with another couple that has a handicap kid. When do these people work?

The head WL&F dude that starts everything each hunt is NOT a morning person. He is a dickhead to start with. If you get picked to hunt on a Tuesday, he told me that the unwritten law is that you can't hunt thrusday of the same week! Flat out told me NOT to even show my face there real rude. WTF? Dude was a complete arse about it. Told me this in front of my daughter. I really wanted to punch this dude in the face.

I have seen well over a 100 people there a few times. It's stupid when college and high school are off school. Your crazy to go without a back up plan.

Do you have to sign up or can you just show up? Do you need a boat or can you walk?

Yes you can bring a dog. Be there by 4:30 for the drawing. Go to the WMA website for the map. Quick directions: get off of rahama exit take a right turn left by gas station, cross wooden bridge turn right in gravel road next to levee cross 3 cattle gaurds take left over levee. If your lost stop the truck turn off lights and look for the bright white light that's next to the check in
