I was in a similar situation for the first game. My gf planned a couples weekend at a farm in upstate NY. The place had no tv and no cell coverage. I was going to bite the bullet and go. At the 11 th hour I cancelled on her and watched the game. She was pissed and disappointed. However, she got over it.
Remember: it's easier to get forgiveness than permission.

You know that she did the wild thing with the other couples in your absence? But, hey, it was probably worth not missing the game (as long as she didn't bring anything home).
